Jolly Grammar

This program provides a comprehensive grammar, spelling and punctuation course.

The Grammar Program begins by introducing the rudiments of grammar and gradually extends and refines the children’s knowledge by introducing new elements of grammar. It also teaches spelling systematically; the children begin by revising the spellings taught in Jolly Phonics, and progressively learn more spelling patterns and rules.

The Grammar Program also develops the children’s vocabulary and improves their comprehension skills. As it progresses, the grammar program is designed to consolidate and refine the teaching of the previous grammar years, slowly and securely building up the children’s knowledge.

The Jolly Grammar Program is multi-sensory. It uses colours and movement to help the children remember the different parts of speech and verb tenses. The actions and colours are used throughout the program to help reinforce children’s grammar knowledge.
